Ladies of Charity installation reception June 20, 2018 in Gruber after Mass.

We meet the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm in Muller Hall, except for the month of January. After the meeting, small assigned groups leave to visit the shut-ins at Clinton House and Wesley Manor in Frankfort, Mulberry Health and Retirement Community, and Milner's in Rossville.

Two ladies each month sign up to stay in the hall as hostesss and provide a festive table with refreshments and desserts ready when ladies return for fellowship. All residents being visited receive a plate of cookies or a flower if they can't have sweets. Pat Guckien calls for cookie baking and Mary Laird calls members to see how many are coming each month to the meeting.

If you work during the day, help us by signing up to be a cookie baker. We are also involved in doing a Senior Saints luncheon on the third Thursday in September for all parishioners 80 or older. Father has a Mass prior to lunch with entertainment following.

Our group is responsible for providing funeral dinners following a death in the parish. Mary Weldy is in charge of the kitchen and Kathy Laird does the calling for food. We are able to do this with donations received from the families of the deceased.

Installation of new members is in the spring each year at a Mass and each woman receives a Ladies of Charity cross and a booklet. Dues are $13 a year and money goes to the national office in Kansas City. Each paid member receives a bi-monthly newsletter.

Prayer Chain
50 ladies are prepared to pray for someone very ill or in an emergency or a crisis situation. For those needing longer term prayer, names are listed on a paper on the bulletin board in the back of church. Contact Ann Clark or Kathy Laird to join us in prayer. You can be notified by phone or email.
